Now, experience counts for SRK

Strange though it may seem, when Shah Rukh Khan begins work on Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express, it will mark the superstar’s outing with one of the most experienced directors he has worked with. Surprised? So were we. But the fact remains that with the exception of Yash Chopra (who directed SRK in Veer Zaara), the King Khan has worked with mostly newbie directors, including Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Farah Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ashutosh Gowariker and Farhan Akhtar.
That is set to change with Rohit, who has already churned out seven films in eight years — most of them huge hits. “With the commercial mindset that both SRK and Rohit have, it should be a lethal combination,” says a source.
